Creatine under sleep deprivation: promising, very early

In a small, highly specific sleep-deprivation experiment, a high single creatine dose partially reduced fatigue-related cognitive deterioration; it is not a general-use protocol.

Caveat. The trial used 0.35 g/kg in 15 young adults during 21 hours awake—far outside ordinary daily use.

Breathwork may reduce stress, with important caveats

Breathwork was associated with lower self-reported stress in randomized trials, but study quality and heterogeneity make it a promising regulation tool—not a performance cure.

Caveat. Most included studies had moderate risk of bias, and the primary outcomes were subjective.

Micro-breaks restore energy, not necessarily performance

Micro-breaks under ten minutes reliably reduce fatigue and increase vigor, but they do not reliably improve demanding-task performance on their own.

Caveat. Shorter is not automatically better; performance benefits increased as breaks became longer.

Methodology

Useful evidence, with the uncertainty intact.

What this is

  • Peer-reviewed research translated for everyday knowledge work.
  • Clear on study design, sample, effect size, and limits.
  • Practical ideas separated from what a paper directly proves.

What this is not

  • Medical advice, a supplement guide, or a replacement for care.
  • An exhaustive academic database or a feed of every new paper.
  • A reason to generalize a small study beyond its actual scope.
